A Tri-State Tourism Council Driving Tour

• Board the Cassville Car Ferry in Cassville, Wisconsin
• Depart the Ferry on the Iowa side and travel straight for 2.1 miles on Oak Rd.
• Take a left onto Grand River Rd/C9Y
• Continue on C9Y for 8 miles.
• C9Y will take you right into Balltown, just past a scenic overlook you will find Breitbach’s Country Dining.
  
  
• Continue South on C9Y for 6.3 miles to Sherrill.
• Turn left at the T-Junction and travel 4.6 miles.
• Take a right in Sageville on Hwy 52 and travel 7 miles to the Stone Cliff Winery.
  
  
• Backtrack on Hwy 52 for 12.6 miles into Dubuque.
• Turn right onto 4 th St.
• Travel 2 blocks (0.1 miles) and turn left onto Main St.
• Travel 1 block to Bricktown Brewery.
  
  
• Continue 2 more blocks to find Grape Harbor.
  
  
• Turn right onto 1 st St.
• Travel 1 block and turn left at the stop sign on Locust St. towards 61 South.
• Travel straight onto 61 South and follow for 30.1 miles.
• Take exit 158 off of Hwy 61 onto Hwy 64
• Turn right onto Hwy 64 off of the ramp.
• Travel 8.9 miles
• Take a right onto 50 th St./Y34 and travel 1.2 miles.
• Take a left onto 67 th St. and travel 0.8 miles to arrive at Tabour Winery.
  
  
• Follow 67 th St. back to 50 th St.
• Take 50 th St. back to Hwy 64.
• Turn left towards Maquoketa.
• Follow Hwy 64 for 9.4 miles into Maquoketa.
• Turn right onto Prospect St. and travel 1 block (0.1 miles) to the Squire Manor on your left.
  
  
• Leaving Maquoketa, travel West on Hwy 64 for 0.6 miles.
• Turn left onto Hwy 61 South and travel 5.2 miles.
• Take exit 153 off of Hwy 61 onto Hwy 136.
• Turn left onto Hwy 136 off of the ramp.
• Follow Hwy 136 for 31.2 miles, traveling over the Mississippi and the Iowa/Illinois state line.
• Take the first left in Fulton onto 4 th St.
• Travel 0.3 miles and turn left onto 10 th Ave.
• Proceed 3 blocks to the Dutch Windmill.
  
  
• Backtrack to Hwy 136.
• Turn left and travel 0.9 miles on Hwy 136.
• Turn left onto Hwy 84/Great River Road.
• Travel 7.3 miles into Thompson and find the McGinnis Mellon Market.
  
  
• Follow Hwy 84 for 0.7 miles more to find the Thomson House Villager Lodge.
  
  
• Continue North on Hwy 84 for 8.7 miles to the T-Junction.
• Turn left and continue to follow Hwy 84/Chicago Ave.
• Hwy 84/Chicago Ave. turns into Main St. in Savanna.
• Pulford Antique Mall is on the right side of the street after 1.4 miles.
  
  
• Follow Hwy 84 North for 2.3 miles to arrive at the Mississippi Palisades State Park South Entrance.
  
  
• Continue North on Hwy 84 for 2.5 miles and turn right onto Millhollow Rd.
• Follow Millhollow Rd. for 1.8 miles.
• This will take you to Scenic Ridge Rd.
• Turn left onto Scenic Ridge Rd. and travel 4.7 miles.
• Turn right onto Massbach Rd. and travel 0.2 miles.
• Come to stop sign and turn, left continuing on Massbach Rd., for 2.0 miles to arrive at the Massbach Ridge Winery.
  
  
• Continue North on Massbach Rd. for 7.5 miles where Massbach Rd. intersects with Schuller Rd.
• Continue straight onto Schuller Rd. to the intersection of Hwy 78.
• Turn left onto Hwy 78 and travel 2.8 miles into Stockton.
• Turn left onto Front St. where you will find Karen’s Kitchen and Yesteryear’s Treasures on the right side of the first block.
  
  
• Continue north on Hwy 78 for 0.5 miles.
• Turn right (east) onto Hwy 20 at the T-Junction.
• Travel 4.7 miles East on Hwy 20 to Kolb-Lena Cheese Shop located in the back of the factory.
  
  
• Continue on Hwy 20 East for 4.5 miles to the intersection of Hwy 20 & 73.
• To go to the KOA Campground, continue past the 73/20 intersection .3 miles.
• To continue into Lena, turn north onto Hwy 73.
• Travel 1.5 miles and turn left onto Main St.
• Follow Main St. for 0.3 miles to run straight into Lena Maid Meats.
  
  
• Backtrack to Hwy 73 and turn left onto Hwy 73
• Travel one block to Lena Mercantile Co. and Eatery (on your left)
  
  
• Back at Hwy 73, turn left and travel 2.1 miles to arrive at Torkelson Cheese.
• Backtrack back into Lena.
• At the first stop sign turn west onto Stagecoach Trail toward Warren.
• Follow Stagecoach Trail for 12.2 miles into Warren where The Olde Hotel restaurant will be on your right.
  
  
• Continue 1 block on South Railroad St. and turn left onto Burnett Ave. (Over train tracks) one block.
• Turn right onto Main St. at the stop sign.
• Travel 9 blocks (0.5 miles) and turn left onto S. Belleview St.
• Travel 4 blocks (0.2 miles) and turn left at the stop sign onto Stagecoach Trail/Galena Ave.
• Continue on Stagecoach Trail for 18.7 miles.
• Turn right on Ford Rd. (no road name sign, but turn right immediately after blue tourist sign).
• Travel 0.4 miles to the Galena Cellars Vineyard Tasting Room.
• Backtrack and turn right onto Stagecoach Trail.
  
  
• Travel 5.9 miles into Galena and turn left onto Bench St. (at the Courthouse)
• Travel 0.6 miles and turn left at lights onto Main St.
• Travel 0.1 miles passing the floodgates to the Galena Meat Market on your left.
  
  
• Across the street you will find Galena River Wine & Cheese.
  
  
• Continue North on Main St. for 1 block (0.1 miles).
• On the left you will find the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Great American Popcorn.
  
  
• Travel 1 block and on the left you will find Galena’s Kandy Kitchen.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 20 West and Hwy 84. Travel 7.7 miles north across the Wis. state line where 84 changes to Hwy 80.
• Continue 5 miles, through Hazel Green (suggest taking the business route through the historic business district) to Cuba City.
• At the north end of the Business district Gile Cheese Store is on the right.
  
  
• Continue on 80 north, 0.5 miles to Weber Meats on the left.
  
  
• Travel 9.5 miles north on Hwy 80 to Platteville.
• At the stop light (Business 151) turn left for 2 blocks.
• Governor Dodge Hotel & Convention Center will be on the right and the Platteville Chamber Office on the left.
  
  
• Return to the Stop light, turn left.
• Travel 0.4 miles to Main Street.
• Turn right on Main for 2 blocks.
• Turn left on Broadway.
• Travel for 1 block to stop sign ( Mineral Street, not marked).
• Turn right at stop sign and travel 0.6 miles to Swiss Valley Factory on the right.
  
  
• Retrace route back to Main Street.
• Continue up Main Street 0.4 miles to second stop sign.
• Turn right on Hwy 81 north.
• Travel 14.7 miles to Stage Road.
• Turn left for 2.1 miles the Vesperman Farms.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 81/61.
• Continue north on Hwy 61 (through Lancaster), 12.8 miles to Carr Valley Cheese Factory at south edge of Fennimore.
  
  
• Continue north 12.3 miles on Hwy 61 to Hwy 133 in Boscobel.
• Turn right onto 133 and travel 14.8 miles to Muscoda.
• Turn left on Front Street.
• Travel 2 blocks to Walnut.
• Turn right 7 blocks to Industrial.
• Turn right and follow Industrial as it curves past Meister Cheese Company.
  
  
• Return to Front St.
• Turn right on Hwy 80 N.
• Travel 4.1 miles to Cty Rd O.
• Turn right 3 miles to Oak Ridge Road.
• Turn right, then make an immediate right turn into driveway of Oak Ridge Vineyards & Weggy Winery.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 80 South.
• Travel 4.2 miles to Cty Hwy G.
• Turn right for 3.6 miles to Cty Hwy Q.
• Turn left and travel 9.1 miles to Pinetree Road.
• Turn left and travel 1.4 miles to Big Springs Rd.
• Turn left 100 ft. and enter Spurgeons Vineyards & Winery.
  
  
• Return to Cty Rd Q.
• Turn left and travel 3.6 miles to Highlands Main Street.
• Turn right travel down Main Street and Cty Rd. I.
• Travel 7.4 miles to Hwy 18 in Montford.
• Turn right on Hwy 18.
• Travel 0.3 miles to Rural Route One Popcorn and Union Specialty Cheese Company on the left.
  
  
• Continue your tour by traveling east on Hwy 18 for 30.1 miles to Cty Rd. K.
• Turn right and travel 3.0 miles to Langberry Rd.
• Turn right and travel 0.2 miles to Botham Vineyards & Winery.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 18/151.
• Continue east for 6.0 miles to Mount Horeb Business 151.
• Travel 151/Main Street 1.8 miles to Second Street.
• Turn right on Second Street for 1/2 block to Grumpy Troll Brew Pub on the left.
• Return to Bus Route 151/78 East for 0.5 miles.
• Turn right on Hwy 92 for 13.9 miles to Hwy 69.
• Turn right on Hwy 69.
• Travel 5.9 miles to Cty Rd W in New Glarus.
• Turn left ½ block to New Glarus Brewing Company.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 69 South.
• Travel 3 blocks to Hwy 39.
• Turn right ½ block to Railroad Street.
• Turn right ½ block to New Glarus Information Center in the Depot.
  
  
• Continue on Railroad St 2 blocks to Third Ave.
  
  
• Turn Left 1 ½ block to The New Glarus Primrose Winery on corner of Second St & 3 rd Ave.
  
  
• Travel 2 blocks south on second St, 1 block east on fifth Ave & 1 block south on first St to get to the New Glarus Hotel Restaurant on the right.
  
  
• Travel 2 blocks east on sixth Ave to Hwy 69 South14.6 mi toHwy11/81 east.
  
  
• Turn left 12.5 miles to Ten Eyck Orchard.
• Return on Hwy 11/81 10 miles to Cty Rd KK/13 th Street.
• Travel 3.9 miles to 20 th Ave.
• Right 1 block to 12 th St.
• Left 6 blocks on 12 th St to Huber Brewing Company on the left .
• Continue west on 12 th St to 14 th Ave.
• Go 1 block to 11 th St.
• Left 8 blocks to Hwy 69.
• Left on Hwy 69 11 blocks to 21 st St (traffic light).
• Right on 21 st St to The Monroe Welcome Center.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 69 South.
• Travel 1 mile to Franklin Rd.
• Turn right and travel 3.3 miles to Franklin Cheese Cooperative.
  
   
• Return to Hwy 69 North.
• Travel 2.3 miles to the Roth Kase Cheese Factory and Alp n Dell Cheese Store on left.
  
  
• Turn left on Hwy 81 west when leaving Alp n Dell.
• Travel 1 mile to Cty Rd N.
• Turn right on N for 4.3 miles to Chalet Cheese Cooperative.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 81 East.
• Travel south 0.5 miles to Hwy 11 West.
• Travel 13.3 miles west to Cty Rd D in South Wayne.
• Turn right on D for 1.9 miles to Larson Rd.
• Turn right on Larson Rd 100 ft to get to Valley View Cheese.
  
  
• Return to Cty Rd D; turn right and travel 5.1miles to Zimmerman Cheese on left in Wiota.
  
  
• Continue through Wiota on Hwy 78.
• Travel 6.2 miles to Hwy 11 West.
• Travel 6.1 miles west to The Roelli Cheese Store.
  
  
• Continue west on Hwy 11 6.2 miles to Miner Way on the west edge of Shullsburg.
  
  
• Turn left 1 block to The Shullsburg Cheese Factory.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 11 East.
• Travel 0.4 miles to Shullsburg’s Welcome sign.
• Turn right and travel 0.3 miles down Water Street to the Brewster Hotel, also home to The Shullsburg Cheese Store, The Brewster Caféand Lafayette Guest Lodging.
  
  
• Return to Hwy 11 West.
• Travel 10 miles to Hwy 80 North.
• Travel 4 miles to Cty Rd H in Cuba City.
• Turn Left on H and travel 6 miles to Cty Rd HH.
• Continue 3 miles to Dickeyville, where you merge with Hwy 61/35.
• Continue on 61/35 North for 8 miles to Hwy 133 in Tennyson.
• A left onto Hwy 133 into Potosi will lead you past the National Brewery Museum restoration project.
• Continue on Hwy 133 19 miles to Cassville, the beginning of your Autumn Blaze & Glaze trip.
